Vodacom (as leading African mobile communication company providing a wide range of communication services including mobile voice, messaging, data, and converged services to over 61 million customers) and Inhemeter (as world leading end to end solution provider for Smart metering and smart grid) successfully provided Cloud Smart Vending services for Electricity and water in South Africa, in this project Vodacom provide telecommunication and hardware infrastructure (like Data center and 3G services) and Inhemeter provide Smart Metering and vending solution for electricity and water in municipalities.
The cloud services enable South African municipalities to have benefit of smart metering and vending system like remote meter reading, remote connection and disconnection, load limiting, tamper and theft detection, remote charging and etc... Offered system is highly available and maintenance free without initial investment for Smart Metering system, Data center and communication infrastructure from municipalities side.
